Houthi Harira

The Houthi movement, also known as Ansar Allah (Supporters of God), is a political and armed group that emerged from the northern part of Yemen, particularly from the Sa'dah region. The group is predominantly Zaidi Shia Muslims and was founded in the 1990s by Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi. It initially campaigned for Zaidi religious revivalism and greater economic and political autonomy for the Zaidi population of northern Yemen but has since evolved into a major national player.
